Saffire is Focusrite Audio Engineering Ltd.’s driver and control software for the Saffire family of FireWire audio interfaces. It delivers low-latency ASIO and Core Audio drivers alongside the Saffire MixControl application, which lets you configure hardware settings and create flexible routing and monitor mixes for recording or live use. Within MixControl, you can set sample rate, clock source, and buffer size; view meters; save and recall presets; and access model-specific features such as loopback channels or onboard DSP/VRM on supported units. The software also manages firmware updates and supports standalone configurations that can be stored and recalled without a computer. Saffire is available for Windows and macOS, with compatibility depending on the operating system version and the specific interface model.
